About me
Hi, this is Rainer, the guy behind “People in Cologne.
In 2017 I started photography and realized I enjoy taking photos of people a lot.
Then I learned that changing outfits and locations consumes 80 percent of the time “on set” while taking the shots published later are done in 20 percent of the time. So I cut out the 80 percent of waste of time and kept the 20 percent of just shooting and enjoyment.
Thats why there are three main rules at “People in Cologne”
📸 Five minutes – so everyone knows how long it will take
âš“ One location – so we don’t loose time moving
👕 maximum two outfits – so we don’t lose here time as well

People in Cologne detailed rules
Five minutes - 50-150 pictures
The shooting just lasts five minutes (+ five minutes per additional person) and I provide you up to 50 pictures (+50 per additional person) I edit in my style in color and black & white. Usually this comes out to 50-150 (+50-150 per additional person) pictures
Maximum two outfits
Changing outfits consumes a lot of time. Let's just do a maximum of two. With your jacket on and off. Or with an umbrella an without. You get it.
24 hour delivery
You receive the picture taken within 24 hours!
One location
Using just one locations saves a lot of time. We make an appointment and start shooting right away.
full control over your pictures
You get the permission to use the pictures taken everywhere for personal use and you decide whether I am allowed to post the pictures taken or not. Please check the FAQ page what "private use" means and how to handle business use.
Low Costs - No Risk
Pricing is easy: one picture 6 €, all pictures 35 € (+35 € each additional person). When made up date, time and place I ask for 10 € appointment reservation fee. You can use this 10 € as a voucher to buy the pictures afterwards. If you don't like any picture at all, I will send you back the money deposited without any hesitation. If I already started my trip to our meeting point I will use the 10 € as a compensation for my time and money lost.

It's possible! I proof it every time. I don't set a timer, but after 5-10 minutes we are done.
Can I suggest a Location to shoot?
Of course! I am happy for every suggestion you might give.
I never stood in front of the camera. what should i do?
No worries! I rarely shoot with professional models and love to capture real people in real situations. Don't be afraid to step in front of my camera. You don't need to be nervous or stressed, I will guide you.
When and how do you deliver the photos taken? How abot editing?
After shooting I will edit your pictures as promised in color and black and white in my style and then export them with 2048px long edge and 90% quality into .jpg. I will just do quick&dirty editing. This means I will run one preset and do not any eye or beauty retouch. If you want full resolution (up to 42 mpx) please let me know in advance of our shooting also if you want fully polished pictures. I am happy to do so for 30 € per picture. Please note that individual and full beauty retouch can take up to 2 hours - per picture!
After exporting the pictures will be uploaded into a shop system for you to choose and buy.
Note: If you are looking for a specific style in editing I might have had in the past please let me know and as well that editing the delivered pictures on your own is forbidden.
What does "private use" mean?
Private use means you use the pictures for your private Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok or as a present for your friends or other social media site to share or as a profile picture.
If you make or made money out of your social media presence or want to use the pictures commercially for advertising yourself, a product or for your companies homepage it's not private use anymore. Of couse I am happy if you want to use the pictures commercially, but please note that pricing doubles and switches from gross to net and also note that it is your duty to inform me if you want to do so.
This means if you buy one single picture the price will increase from 6 € gross to 12 € net +19% VAT totalling 14,28 € and from 35 € gross for the whole set to 70 € +19% VAT totalling 83,30 €. On top it is mandatory to credit my name with every publication with "People in Cologne - Rainer Schirrmeister" and if there is not enough space just "Rainer Schirrmeister" I'm sure you also feel this is still a steal of a price for the commecial use and of course I am happy to provide you an invoice for you to deduct your taxes.
